You contact your company wide IT dept and have them set it as the default on your company wide print server, then disallow local installs of the driver through a group policy.
And don't use old drivers and certainly don't redirect a Global driver to the device, install it fresh on the server to a new port. There is no reason you would need to disable anything, anywhere to make secure print work
Your IT dept can decide on loading it as only being possible to do secure print:
Or just making it the default before pushing it out to the clients.
If you redirect a driver, install to a port previously used by another device etc etc, bad things happen, so do a fresh install, of a newly downloaded driver and set it as you want it.
Hi Paddy.O'Toole,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. I find no information on issues with using secure print with Outlook e-mail. Please make sure your machines have the latest firmware loaded and see if that makes a difference. If not please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance. As a workaround try saving the email as a .txt document and see if the secure print will work with that format.
Hi,
I've just deployed 12 Workcentre 7835's and enabled Secure Print in the driver defaults on the print server.
Secure print is working like a dream for all print jobs except for Outlook "memo" type print jobs. These jobs go straight through to the default output tray without being held for PIN input.
Wondering if anybody has seen similar or would know where exactly to focus my attention to resolve this?
Thanks in advance,
Paddy
