Uninstalling and reinstalling all printers seems to have done the trick. Test page printed correctly.
That would be nice(I could have used such a utility today in fact!). I haven't seen one anywhere though. I believe most of their uninstallers are product-specific.
I'll try that next. Do you know if Xerox has a "uninstall everything" app?
It looks like you have also already ruled out bad files.
It's hard to ignore the timing with the OS update though.
Just curious, have you tried completely blowing away the printer and creating a new one after doing the supplemental update?
Yes, there was an update that fixed printers that instantly "paused" when jobs were printing to them. That affected us as well, and we have installed that update, and can now print without the pause bug. But the issue I am reporting is an apparently unrelated problem, because it was not fixed by the 10.6.8 v.1.1 update.
MPrewitt-
The OS 10.6.8 update did affect a number of printers(from several different manufacturers).
I don't know if your model was one that was affected or not, but Apple has addressed this problem by issuing a supplemental update for 10.6.8. All you have to do is go to your Apple menu and select "Software Update" and select the "10.6.8 Supplemental Update". Try running it and see if it happens to cure your ills.
I am trying to print to a Xerox WorkCentre 7655. I have been using this printer for years, but recently it stopped working. It's been a couple weeks now, at least, since the problem developed, and I can't recall what might have changed on my system, other than maybe an OS update from Apple.
I am printing from Mac OS X 10.6.8. I can print to another Xerox 260 printer on the network. But when I try to print to the 7655, I consistently get this error:
ERROR: undefined
OFFENDING COMMAND: X_isTransparency
STACK:
This happens regardless of what application I print from (Adobe InDesign, MS Excel, a simple word processor called Bean).
Today I tried installing a new v2.32.0 driver from Xerox. At the end of the installation, it automatically printed a test page, which printed correctly. But I still get the same error when printing from any application.
