I have followed this advice, the SNMP was not enabled, yet our printer continue to switch (at its own free will) into OFFLINE mode. Often resulting in need to uninstall and reinstall printer driver! We have a Phazer 6510
Never use WSD, in the same place as the Configure port there is an option for Add Port.
Use that and just create a port using settings to match the screenshot.
Hi
I am having the same problem with my Xerox Workcentre 6605 - for the past few days the printer is always 'offline'. Sometimes rebooting PC and printer works but often I have to remove the printer and re-install it. It is linked via wifi.
I looked at your suggested solution but when I get to Printer Properties>Ports>Configure Ports I get an error message:
'An error occureds during configuration. This operation is not supported'.
The printer is on the WSDF port.
My operating system is Windows 10
Can you provide any further suggestions to resolve the persistant offline issue?
Thanks
Thank you for this, Joe. It has worked.
Too much lag for SNMP probably. Quickest solution/workaround is:
Start > Devices and Printers
right-click the printer and go to Printer properties
Ports > Configure Port
uncheck SNMP
OK > OK
Everyday our printer is "offline" and we cannot print. We have to delete the printer then reinstall it in order for us to print. Is there anything we can do to aliviate this problem?
We connected the printer to a wireless router.
