Hi ozoneboy,
Thank you for using the Xerox forum.
It seems that you and Kimzi have identified the issue.
This contact list should have world-wide Xerox offices. You may consider calling a local office for the parts you need.
Hi, Ozoneboy!
I'm not sure as to where you can order those parts, but I'm glad that it improved after cleaning, that means we're on the right track.
Best Regards
Kimzi
I've run a few jobs through and there is still a bit of oil on some prints but it's definitely improved. Paper jams have dramatically improved but I've still had the occassional one.
I suspect I might need to pull it apart to give it a more thorough clean, and might need to replace the blade and possibly the donor roller. If anyone has any recommendations of where I could order parts from that would be helpful (I'm in New Zealand).
Thanks Kimzi,
I removed the oil pipe which was definitely filled with 'gloggy' oil down the far end. I soaked it in petrol which cleaned it all out thoroughly and also cleaned all around the wick area which also had a build up of gloggy oil.
I then ran the standard break in procedure (20 blank copies/20 colour test patterns) and everything appears to be working great, it also appears to have resolved the paper jams.
I'll give it another day to run through some real jobs and make sure everything is okay before I click "accept as solution" and mark as solved. Many thanks for your help!
Hi again, ozoneboy!
I do suspect that it is in fact a blockage in the pipe somewhere, I would suggest you try cleaning the pipe with some cloth or a long cable tie, something like that.
If that does not work you might need to take it apart, and maybe replace the wiper blade.
Best Regards
Kimzi

Hi Kimzi,
The oil streaks always clear up after running through a number of copies, however they return again after the machine has been idle for some time. The only areas where I can see excess oil (without pulling the whole fuser apart) is:
1) the black oil pipe - there is some build up where the small holes are along the top surface. It is worse towards the far end where it also appears as a milky colour. I have cleaned this surface but it didn't make any difference to the oil on the prints.
2) there appears to be some oil collecting on some of the fingers at the fuser exit.
I'm also having issues with paper jams which started about the same time as the oil streaks. Basically I can only print A4SEF, anything else such as A4LEF or A3 will jam at the fuser exit when the far front corner gets stuck under a finger. A3 heavyweight doesn't jam, only normal weight. Don't know if there's any connection between the two issues?
You can view some examples here:
You can see quite a bit of oil on the A3 edge where it gets jammed (top right corner).
I used to only use Xerox Colortech stock for normal weights but have been using cheaper office grade uncoated stock recently. The above issues still occur when using the Colortech stock though.
Hi!
I suggest running 10 blank papers through the machine, and cleaning the fuser and transfer area to get rid of excess oil.
It could also be the type of paper you're using if you do not think it has anything to do with the replaced parts.
Could you explain more about the streaks and marks you're getting?
Best Regards
Kimzi

I'm getting a lot of oil on prints from my DC1256GA. It started around the same time as I replaced the cleaning cartridge and fuser oil but I wouldn't have thought it would be related to those. The marks appear as a long streak in one area and a few smaller ones elsewear.
It's no longer under service contract so would like to try fixing it myself, any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?
