Basically this checkbox decides (but not by itself alone) whether print jobs are rendered to the printer's native page description language (e.g. PCL or PostScript) on the client (when disabled) or on the server (when enabled). See this blog post for a discussion.
What else is affected when Advanced Printing Features are turned off?
ReInstalling the driver will eliminate the problem.
Users endup changing the "Driver's" defualt properties, then we get these types of errors when the driver trys to format/scale the docs.
poster 1 - reinstall driver manually solved his problem
poster 2 - changeing fonts resolved his.
These are all symptoms of scaleing/ Font format/processing issues which seems to point to the driver settings, everytime in my case..
Possible embeded Font issue also
I have had this problem with the previous verison (7665) and the current version (7775) and this is what I've found.
Change the font.
As strange as it sounds, when the user is able to change the font to just about anything other, I usually reccomend Arial or Times New Roman, the same document then prints.
I just had this situation with an HTML document, only getting 8 of the 15 pages, so when I went to print it in IE (9) I did...
This was the only change I made to the exact same webpage that had failed. It printed fine.
This is my current work a round I tell my users.
I changed that feature and still having the same problem.
Got the same error on a WC7535 (sub:TEXT, error 0x50). Changing the typefont of the document was a workaround, but not acceptable by my client.
Changing driver to global print driver PS didn't work. Instead of stop printing, it spontaneously rebooted after a message on the touchscreen that the networkcontroller was being reinitialised.
The printerdriver was installed on and shared by a very old and slow W2K3 printserver.
After installing the printer localy on the workstation itself, the problem has dissappeared. So it seems it could have been some kind of communication issue.
We are also getting this error when attempting to print a 20-25 page PPT file. We are working on a WorkCentre 7530. The error log:
PCL XL Error
Subsystem: TEXT
Error: InternalError 0x50
Operator: Text
Position: 8527
What is causing this issue, and has a solution been found, outside of manually changing the print settings to get around it?
Thank you.
Got the same problem and it's year 2011.
If I disable "Advance Printing Features" what other features is disable ?
Hi,
I too am receiving the same error when trying to print color ppt file that is over 20 pages. Yes disabling the advanced featured does allow me to print the document without issues. My concern is what other features will be disabled? I would say it is a great work around but is there a fix?
