Re: PDF/Postscript printing broken on macOS Monterey?

For my Phaser 3330 with driver file XeroxDrivers_5.10.0_2305.dmg, the problem persists.

Printing via Adobe works.

Re: PDF/Postscript printing broken on macOS Monterey?

Hi,

Thank you for using the Support Forum.

Post script is available when using the latest Phaser 6510 MacOS print driver which is the Xerox V5.10 print driver.

Try the following steps.

Reset the print system and reinstall the printer(s)  https://support.apple.com/en-ph/guide/mac-help/mh14001/mac

Thanks,

Re: PDF/Postscript printing broken on macOS Monterey?

Thanks for the additional informaiton - it all points to Apple's macOS Monterey. It is such a shame that basic testing is so poor, given they are not short of resources or capability.

I will try Adobe Reader until Apple fixes PDFKit.

Re: PDF/Postscript printing broken on macOS Monterey?

One more thing, these unprintable pdfs CAN be printed via Adobe Acrobat, which to my understanding does not use Apples PDFKit.

Re: PDF/Postscript printing broken on macOS Monterey?

I am having the same issue with an HP printer. Some pdfs, previously printable, do not print any longer. I have not been able to update my drivers, but it is weird because all printing was fine under Big Sur. I think this is a probelm with Apple's PDFKit.

PDF/Postscript printing broken on macOS Monterey?

Product Name: Phaser 6510
Operating System: macOS 11 - Big Sur

Has pritning stopped working for anyone else who upgraded to MacOS 12.0.1 Monterey?

I am using the latest printer driver v.5.9.0, and the latest firmware v 64.66.91

PDFs that previously printed fine are all now giving a postscript error "error: undefined... offending command: ..."

Attached is a photo of 3 printouts showing the error. The actual offending commany appear to vary with differerent attemps/documents.

PXL_20211028_184332633.jpg

The documents themselves are fine PDFs, validated using online tools as compliant PDF 1.5 or 1.4. These same PDFs worked fine previously.

This happened when MacOS 11.0 Big Sur was intriduced but I think some updates fixed it, not sure if it was a driver/firmware/OS update. Then I worked with tech support at Xerox over a month running tests for him. Happy to do that again - but I have no way of contacting them again.

Any suggestions?

UPDATE - using a "generic postscript printer" driver also results in the same failure to print, with the same "ERROR: undefined, OFFENDING COMMAND: UTNÆ1"
