I have dealt with this before.
My recommendation is that you do a reset on the hard-drive (Formatting). This has to be performed at diag mode and should be preformed by someone with extended kownledge on the device.
I normally performa a full reset, making sure that the HDD is included. Then upgrade to the latest firmware (this is just to make sure your device is up-to-date). In 4250 case, you are looking at version 15.005.23.000
Please contact Xerox support to book an engineer visit, unless you are authorized personel, than follow the normal process.
No, like I said if I try to reprint the file that gets stuck after rebooting, it comes out fine. They don't re-print a lot of documents as they are invoices that get printed once and filed. The issue appears to happen randomly. Sometimes it will re-occur after 5-10 minutes, sometimes it will print thousands of pages before happening again.
Hey you!
Is it specific PDF files this happens with? and does it happen everytime with that file?
If so I suggest you try ticking "print as image" when printing that file, and see if that helps.
Best Regards
Kimzi

Hello,
I've run into this issue with a couple of different 4250's lately. Basically what happens is that occationally a PDF file gets stuck with the status "formatting". It doesn't happen on every PDF file, and when I try to reprint a file it gets stuck on after rebooting the unit, it prints just fine. I suspect it may be the driver and have suggested that they try a Postscript driver since pretty much all they print are PDF files.
Does anyone else have any other possible suggestions? All printers have the latest firmware available on the support site.
Thanks.
