Re: PHASER 7500 - PRINTING ISSUES

Hi,

Yes the lines are in the same places every time.  ill try to take the IBT belt out and see what happens. My bigger problem is this magenta issue though. The machhine only has 2500 color prints on it, a year old and it goes bad this quickly.  Ill pull the drums out and look back there, hopefully I can see something.  I feel it has to do witht he black drum, it only did this after I replaced it. Youd figure black would go on all colors then. Sigh.

Thanks again for all your help,

Monique

Re: PHASER 7500 - PRINTING ISSUES

Unfortunately i'm not familiar with this model but it does look like an electrical or software issue to me.

Re: PHASER 7500 - PRINTING ISSUES

Hi again!

If switching cyan and black, switching it back (printing) and then switching black and yellow (printing) did nothing then the drums should be fine.

The IBT belt could be whats giving you the lines, sure. You'll usually see if it's damaged when taking it out. (Is it the exact same measurements between the lines everytime?) can you replicate the lines issue and get a clearer image of it somehow?

And yes, there is a transfer roller in this machine :) (you can find it by looking through THIS, close to the fuser)

It could also be a developer housing issue or a bad drum contact in the magenta drum area, as it only affects magenta.

Try taking out the magenta drum and another drum, putting em in a dark place , looking to see if there's any difference between the two contacts in the back of the machine.

I know "Fiery" is a developer-expert, I'm gonna see if I can get a hold of him. He might have some more suggestions.

Best Regards

Kimzi

Re: PHASER 7500 - PRINTING ISSUES

Ok I switched the cyan and black drums, black and yellow, still prints dark magenta.

I was having lines in pure black prints, thought the magenta was coming out fine. ( you can see the lines on the photo I uploaded, on the black (well, grey) sample. They are always in the same places) switched the black drum thinking that was the issue. Lines still there, and then the magenta stated to print like that.

One thing I am curious about when I think of it, I took out the belt cleaner at this time, and when I pulled it out a bunch of toner went everywhere. I shook it off in the garbage, but didnt touch it anywhere and put it back in. Do you think that may be the issue?

I also just switched the black toner with a new one and it still prints dark. Geez I am using up all my supplies messing with this, haha.

Is there a transfer roller in this machine? I used to have a 7400 and there was a transfer roller in that one, but I dont see it as a consumable in this one.

I bought this machine becaue I heard great things about it, and it has printed great, until now.

Thanks,

Monique

Re: PHASER 7500 - PRINTING ISSUES

I will try that now.  When you say yellow tap, Im not sure what you mean- do you mean the yellow LED cleaner on the bottom of it?

Re: PHASER 7500 - PRINTING ISSUES

Hi again!

Now I'm curious about this "The issue started when I was having a lot of lines in the black prints."

There are still lines in black? does the lines repeating having the same margins every time?

I believe all the drums are the same on this particular printer?

If so could you try switching drums?

Switch between magenta and yellow, also black and yellow, any changes? (Don't forget to use the yellow tap for this, the one that comes with every new drum)

If there is no changes, then the drums are fine.

Best Regards

Re: PHASER 7500 - PRINTING ISSUES

Here is a pic of the advanced calibration printout- as you can see the magenta is very dark, and in the pictire anything that has magenta in it is darker. :(

Re: PHASER 7500 - PRINTING ISSUES

Hi, thank you for jumping in, this is so stressfull.

I printed the step pages like you said, the magenta has black in every step. I reset the printer to factory yesterday, printed all the fill pages, step pages adn anything I could, just issues in magenta. Even the config page where there is magenta prints dark, so Its not a driver issue or with my adobe programs iI am printing from. I have uploaded a few pics of what I am talking about. You can see that the cyan and yellow is fine, no issues, the magenta is dark only.

The issue started when I was having a lot of lines in the black prints.  iI replaced what was a new IU with another New IU, and not only are the lines still there but right after that the magenta printed dark. I have also uploaded a pic that shows a print that I was doing, red was fine, and after you can see to the right of it a print after of same file with the red darkened.  I have no more IU's, I just wasted 2 of them and they are expensive so I cant figure it out. If it was the fuser or roller iI figure it would be on all colors but it is not.
