Did anyone at Xerox, or some clever end user, ever discover the reason behind this error? It doesn't seem to be either the pick up roller or the transfer roller. Once the paper starts moving, there is no slippage or lag on its way through the machine. But there is that vertical offset and then the paper size error, so the printer is clearly not reading the lead and tail ends of the sheet correctly. This happens whether making a copy or printing from the network.
If I thought it was a mechanical issue I'd change the entire maintenance kit but it really does seem to be more of an electronic problem. If the culprit was discovered at some point, please do let me know.
PS - I did a factory reset on the printer just in case there was some odd setting I was missing. It didn't make any difference.
After a tumultuos time trying to get the windows 8 driveres installed I get the following error message Box when attempting to print "Printer stuck in error mode". I have tried power cycling the printer and computer no resolution I have polled the printer menues looking for a specfic error nothing found. The Device Manager says this device is working correctly, in printers and devices the 6115 mfp is set as the default printer and listed as ready so it's online, and last but least windows print troubleshooter can find no errors however I still cannot print. Thanks to all in advance for your help.

I have the same problem. I just reinstalled all drivers. My printer continually wants to reprint the initial configuration page. Prints 1 page and then I get Paper Jam, Open Top Cover. I do that then I get paper size error and reset paper (1lt). I recycle power, remove/replace paper in tray. Comes up OK when powered up. After about a minute, the printer prints another copy of config page and repeats error msg cycle.
Seems this should be easy for Xerox to figure out. Any additional thoughts?
I'm experiencing exactly the same problem. After owning the printer for over a year, this issue only appeared in the last few months. The Print Driver paper size is correct and the paper guides are against the paper as suggested. Has support or any individual identified a solution?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
I have the same problem. I get the impression support is dumbfounded. Thanks for at least telling me about a temporary workaround. One wrinkle: I was having the top margin issue before I started getting the paper size messages. I'm not sure to what extent they are related.
Thank you for your reply and suggestions. The paper in the paper tray is letter size, matching the paper size specified in the printer driver and the application, and the guides are set right up against the paper in the paper tray. However, the malfunctioin persists.
There has to be an explanatioin, don't you agree? The mystery is that the printer will function normally after the paper supply is removed and reinserted only to malfunction after half an hour of inactivity without any interference.
Thanks for using the Support Forum. Please make sure that you have the paper guides set right up against the paper in the paper tray. Also please take a look at the solution for the Paper Size Error Message. If none of this helps you may need to contact your local support centre.
I have the most mysterious problem with my 6115MFP. When I start a print job, the first page comes out with the printing off-set from the top meaning the printing starts further down from the top of the page than usual. The gap varies from time to time from less than an inch to more than a few inches. And the printer beeps and shows a message: **Caution** Paper Size Error - **Caution** Reset Paper (1LT).
Through trial and error I found a temporary fix. If I remove all the paper supply from the tray and put them back, the error message disappears. It will then print normally. However, if there is no printing for awhile (about half an hour or so), then the malfunction happens all over again. The first page prints with a vertical off-set, and the Paper Size Error reappears. Removing and replacing the paper supply (letter size) will return the printer to normal operation for another interval.
I have configured the source paper size on the printer panel to "letter". The paper size in the print dialog window are also configured to "letter" in both the "Original Size" and "Output Size".
Can anyone help?
