Paper is being duplexed on single page prints

Product Name: Xerox B230 Printer
Operating System: Windows 10 x64

I have this strange issue on a rather new B230:

If I print e.g. 10 copies of a 1-page instruction, then many of those pages are being almost finished in the tray - then the printer drags it back in - and then spits it out again.

I think this could cause the other issue I have with black marks on the paper from the first print page - but I have no idea why it does it when there is no page 2 in the instruction I print!

Can anyone tell me how to turn that off? It should only duplex if there is really double-sided printing in the file.
