Hi DCRPI
I have a similar problem with a Phaser 7760, wherein up to 4 sheets of 11" x 17" coated/glossy paper will be pulled from the tray simultaneously, apparently due to static cling. The humidity in the room is about 45%: however, this problem does not occur with any of the "regular" paper used in this printer. Any idea how to avoid static, or de-staticize the paper and/or printer? Thanks.
Thanks. That was my thinking as well; I think it's too dry in there. I can control the temp, but not the humidity. I'll have to look into getting a humidifier in there to control the humidity.
Hi Brenda,
Thanks for using the Support Forum. It sounds like it may be an issue with the humidity or lack of humidity. If you can get a temperature of around 72 degrees and a humidity around 55% that would be a good environment for the machine. But if you are in a dry area then static will be an issue. Please consider contacting your local support centre to see if they have any further suggestions.
This is an issue we've had ever since we started using the 6204 - a few years back. When we plot multiple D size sheets, one with either not fall correctly into the sheet collector (I don't know the technical name for it) and roll over, causing the rest of the sheets to fall on the floor; or a sheet will stick to the machine (due to static electricity, I believe), causing the sheets after it to fall to the floor.
Any ideas?
