Then you would need to get down to the Belt, Belt cleaner or possibly Fuser. Sadly, none of that is documented in anything customer facing as far as I know. Hopefully you have a maintenance agreement.
Thanks Joe. I have wiped the area in the attached picture but it doesnt show any signs that it needs cleaning and still looks brand new to be honest. It actually looks like your picture
At the end of the directions I linked in my first response.
Hi Joe
Can you point me to where I find the Laser lens please. I have looked in the user guide but it isnt that clear
Thanks
Did you clean the laser lens? That is the last thing it could be without getting into the Belt
Just done a print test by printing the 4 solid colours and the fault is in the Cyan and the Magenta. Hard to photograpgh but see attached.
Black and Yellow print nice and smooth
Hi Joe
Thanks for the quick reply. I have checked the imaging unit and it is all really clean, as you would expect with a fairly new machine.
I have also brought a new ream of Xerox paper and test that this morning but still the same.
Looking at the printed A4 sheets, the first 40mm on the left and right print nice and smooth, so the fault is through the centre area, if that helps.
Inks are all Xerox and recently installed, so what else could it be ?
Please let me know
Thanks Neil
Could be the toner, imaging unit or laser lens (assuming of course the paper is within spec and set correctly,)
First, check the imaging unit for dirt/defects and clean the laser lens while you are in there.
If it is the fuser, it would likely mean you could smear the toner when ti first comes out, but I don't think that will be the case, my guess would be an envelope or label left residue on the imaging unit.
Hi. I have a Xerox Phaser 6500 that is under 1 year old and only printed 827 sheets but im getting very patchy print. Not easy to photograpgh but see attached "low spots". Can anyone help to fix this problem ?Thanks
