Xerox can't change your firmware or update your drivers, so none of that would have changed either.
It could have been corrupted (the 3010) but it isn't likely.
The last firmware release is SG1_XC_2.02. It's from 2013, so not exactly new.
Give it a try, but there is nothing in its release notes indicating any changes that would apply here.
Hello Joe,
thank you for your answer. I tried to swtich USB cable, i also checked USB connector of printer, everything looks fine but still cannot access printer via Xerox utilities (printing works normally). About the physical problem as you write - I always act to my printer nicely, but you may be right. Or do you thin there can be some software(firmaware) issue in the printer? Maybe firmware update could be a solution - if there is any new version.
The fact is that 2years ago, my Xerox printer setting utility worked normaly. I didnt change my computer, nor I reinstalled Win, just suddenly it stopped to work.
Thank you
Have you tried another USB cable at all?
Seems odd the issue occurs on multiple PC's. Cable is the only thing you can change, else you need a tech as there would have to be something physically wrong with the printer. It can't even be a firewall issue since Windows Firewall doesn't look at USB traffic .
Hello,
I have a problem with my Xerox Phaser 3010 printer/manufactured Oct2013. In my windows 7 in "devices and printers" it shows correctly when I turn printer on/off, but in xerox software (Printer Setup Utility) it always show "Printer status:off" and error message occurs "Failed to acquire the information". I tried to completely reinstall drivers and software, all from offical printer support website. Also, the same issue I have on other computer. Can anyone give an advice?
Thank you
