Re: Phaser 3020 Installation Sofware

Have you tried just plugging it into the network with a network cable?

I'd help on the Mac if I had one, but it simply might not be possible, Xerox is getting pretty bad at releasing software that works on macOS. I mean nobody really runs 10.14 anymore but they have the stuff to make that work

But everyone is on 10.15 now (Came out Oct 9 2019) and they simply have nothing but the driver (no utilities)

And 10.16 should be released in another 5 months

Re: Phaser 3020 Installation Sofware

Dear Joe, thanks for your reply, but I still can't find the way to configure the WifiSettings in order to use AirPlay. Can you please explain how to do it on a MacOS?

I am using the Easy Printer Manager but I see no option to configure Wifi settings. Here is a screen capture of what is appearing on the app:Screen Shot 2020-05-19 at 10.53.21 AM.png

Re: Phaser 3020 Installation Sofware

That address isn't valid. Its the address you would get when not connected to a network.

When installing the printer, you can use the Xerox Easy Wireless Setup program to configure the wireless settings.

Disable WiFi Direct at the Control Panel

  1. Press the [Machine Status] button.
  2. Press the Up/Down arrows to select [Network] and press [OK].
  3. If prompted, enter the Administrator Password using the alphanumerical keypad. The default is 1111.
  4. Press the up/down arrows to select [Wi-Fi] and press [OK].
  5. Press the up/down arrows to select [Wi-Fi Direct] and press [OK].
  6. At the Wi-Fi On/Off menu, press [OK].
  7. Confirm that Off is selected and press [OK] to save the settings.

To Open the Program on Windows PC:

  1. Select Start>Xerox Printers > Xerox Easy Wireless Setup.

    Note
: For Windows 7: Select Start > Programs or All Programs > Xerox Printers, and then select Xerox Easy Wireless Setup.

  2. Connect the machine to your computer using the USB cable.

Note: During installation, the printer needs to be temporarily connected using the USB cable.

Note: You cannot use the Phaser 3052 / 3260, WorkCentre 3025 or WorkCentre 3215 / 3225 models on a wired and wireless network at the same time. If your printer is connected to the network with an Ethernet cable, unplug the cable.

  3. Select Next.
  4. Once the machine is connected to the computer with the USB cable, the program searches for WLAN data.
  5. When the search is complete, the Select Wireless Network window displays. Select your network from the list.
  6. Select Next. The Wireless Network Security screen displays.
  7. Enter your Network Password and select Next.
  8. At the Wi-Fi Direct Settings screen, uncheck the box next to Yes, I want to turn on Wi-Fi Direct on my printer.
  9. Select Next.
  10. Click Finish when the Wireless Network Setup Complete screen displays.

Re: Phaser 3020 Installation Sofware

Dear Joe,

I have seen this answer in other forums and also in the user manual. But HOW tdo I connect to the printer IP address. I have tried just typing the IP on a web browser while the printer is on, I have also tried connecting to the printer using WIFI Direct and then typing the number, but I can't connect to the IP address. In my printer's case the IP is 169.254.134.184

Please help me

Re: Phaser 3020 Installation Sofware

The timeframe is never, Xerox doesn't support Catalina for the 3020,

Airprint is supported by Apple, there are no drivers, so it should work fine assuming you have it enabled on the printer already, and it would seem you do since upgrading to Catalina can't have changed that on the printer, but just to be sure:

To configure AirPrint:

  1. Open a Web browser, type the IP address of the printer, then press Enter or Return.
  2. Click Login and enter the ID (admin) and Password (1111).
  3. Click Properties > Network Settings > AirPrint.
  4. To enable AirPrint, click Enable.

NOTE: AirPrint is enabled by default when IPP and Bonjour (mDNS) are both enabled. Enable these settings by selecting Properties > Network Settings > Raw TCP/IP, LPR, IPP and Properties > Network Settings > mDNS.

  5. To change the printer name, in the Friendly Name field, enter a new name.
  6. To enter a location for the printer, in the Location field, enter the location of the printer
  7. To enter a physical location for the printer, in the Geographical Location field, enter the geographic Latitude and Longitude coordinates in decimal form. For example, use coordinates like +170.1234567 and +70.1234567 for a location.
  8. Click Apply.
  9. For the new settings to take effect, restart your printer.

Phaser 3020 Installation Sofware

Product Name: Phaser 3020
Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina

I recently purchased a Phaser 3020, but I have no CD drive in my MacBook to install the software in order to use AirPrint. Is there any timeframe for the upload of the software for MacOS Catalina? The most recent (today, actually) is the regular driver (printing using USB), but I want to use it AirPrint.

Thanks in advance.
