Mine is networked, you never listed USB as a thing and I have no way to test that.

Does the Mac recognise the printer when you plug it in? Does it prompt fopr a driver to use?

Could you please outline the steps for this? Previously it was just a matter of plugging in the USB cable and clicking on a software package. Thank you.

I just installed the 10.11 driver using an HP Jet Direct port and had no issue printing. Due to 10.12 changes in BiDi I would suggest not using IPP.

I would recommend that you contact your local support center for assistance.  There may be troubleshooting and recommendations best made by phone.  I'm sorry I am not able to assist any further.

I contacted our Technical Team and they recommend that you try the 10.11 driver that is available for this model. Have you given that a try yet?

I just bought a new iMac in time for Christmas and imagine my surprise when my Xerox Phaser 3160n won't work with it. My HP printer of similar age works great but Xerox still hasn't released the necessary software. I am pondering just throwing the Xerox in the trash and buying a HP laser. Any friends or family asking for advice or technical support will be hearing about this.
