Re: Phaser 3600 - Invalid Toner

You pay to make it compatible with a new toner type or region, not to use what you have been using for the last 2 years.

The printer comes in a neutral state, when you purchase and install your first consumable it locks to its designation (Metered vs sold) and dependant on the model and area, possibly to a Region.

Metered = Xerox contracted

Sold = Purchased through Retail

Regions are

NA/DMO and Asia pacific

DMO, Dmoso " - includes the marketing, sales and servicing of Xerox products, supplies, and services in (Latin America, Mexico, Brazil) the Middle East, India, Eurasia and Central-Eastern Europe (Russia area) and Africa.

Phaser 3600 - Invalid Toner

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Am I reading correctly, that the only way I can get our printer to accept the new toner is to pay someone to enter in a code? I find this hard to believe, and was this mentioned in the specs when we go to purchase this? I do not remember reading that, although it has been 2yrs.
