Re: Phaser 3600 Printers names changing in Bonjour - Mac

Hi LexTek,

Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please make sure that you are following the installation instructions outlined in the Driver Upgrade instructions document.  Also take a look at the instruction in the installation case on the support page for the Phaser 3600.  If these do not help please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

Thanks,

Phaser 3600 Printers names changing in Bonjour - Mac

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hello!

We are experiencing an issue with our Xerox Phaser 3600 printers.  Our district is entirely Mac...we have approximately 25 Xerox Phaser 3600 printers that are set up on our network.  We have the printer names set on each printer's web site.  Occasionally, when our users go to add a printer in Bonjour, the printer name does not show up correctly.  The printer's name appears under "nearby printers" as Xerox Phaser 3600 (*Printer Name*).  This is not a huge deal, but it has become an annoyance for many of our users since they sometimes cannot print from a remembered printer because of the phantom name-change.  Instead of being able to print from the previously-used printers list, they have to constantly go find them in the "nearby printers" list with the words Xerox Phaser 3600 in front of the actual name.

Hopefully this makes some sense and someone has seen this before and came up with a solution.  Our district is running OS s Snow Leopard, Lion, and Mountain Lion.  It doesn't seem to matter which OS is being used.

Thanks!
