I have taken the liberty of lifting the solution to your problem (and the possible reason for not seeing the toner low message) from the link above.
I hope this solution will prevent any toners or drums being unexpectantly depleted. without warning
P.S CWIS is the web interface of the printer (access though typing in the ip address of the printer in the browser)
Alert Notifications can be set up to e-mail one or more e-mail addresses for a variety of printer and supply conditions.
NOTE: Users may be required to login as a System Administrator to view or modify settings within CentreWare Internet Services. If prompted, login using the System Administrator username and password. The default username is "admin", and the default password is "1111".
Normally disabling the toner low warning message isn't possible (by accident)canceling the message is possible on some printers/copiers.
But depending on the amount of prints a day
And depending on the coverage (measured at 5% The ISO/IEC 19752 test procedure for monochrome printers )
a toner could be finished much sooner than the user(s) and printer thinks (it is going from the assumption that every print is 5% coverage)
that doesn't take away that the toner is empty unexpectantly.
But the solution is at hand.
Woodsy, most of the people here would have responded the same way when it comes to changing notification settings, it's easier to direct to an already made guide than writing one yourself.
I suggest you stop complaining and come up with a better response if you're not satisfied.
Being an ass will not solve anything.
ON Topic:
If the toner feels empty it probably is empty.

Typical useless response from a totally useless company.
I suggest you find a dictionary and look up the words "CUSTOMER" and "SERVICE".
Hi sel1212,

I have a Phaser 4600 for use by studnets and faculty in a school. The printer is less than a year old, and I am on my second toner cartridge. The first time I replaced the toner cartridge, the printer gave me warnings that the toner was getting low. i don't remember the exact number, but it warned me when I had a certain number of pages left to print. However, today, without warning, the printer gives an error message that the Toner is empty. Again, there was no warning leading up to this message. The printer will not print the jobs in queue because it registers the toner as empty. I have tried taking the toner cartridge out and shaking it and replacing it to no avail. Is it possiblie the "toner empty!" message is a mistake, or is there something I may have inadvertantly changed in the printer settings in which that warning message about the toner being low was disabled? If so, how do I get that message back???? It is essential for managing printing and planning ahead.
Thank you,
