we use a Phaser 4622 with two trays (one is bypass).
Tray 1 (Bypass) contains labels, envelopes and so one (anything but A4).
Tray 2 contains A4.
The printer is installed twice (we use print server). One is too print A4 documents and the other is to print shipping labels, envelopes ...
We want to achieve a static behavior.
User --> print on "Printer" --> print using Tray 2 (A4)
User --> print on "Printer Labels" --> print using Bypass (no matter which format is inserted).
We want no message on the printer, when the Bypass gets filled with new material.
We got that scenario working. But there is one issue.
Imagine user prints on "Printer" (A4). The Tray 2 (A4) gets empty. Now the printer continues on Tray 1 (Bypass), if it is filled.
But we want the printer to stop and wait till Tray 2 is refilled. How to configure that?

Open CWIS and disable the prompt here (may have to change the Mode to get the option first)
CWIS > General Setup > Tray Settings
the prompt is disabled. (We did not enabled it.)
Our problem is, that we want a static behavior. That works, but if a try gets empty the printer continues using next tray, but the trays have different sizes (e.g. A4 vs small labels). A4 Document on shipping labels ...
one printer with two trays
tray 1 static label
tray 2 static A4
Printserver --> that printer is installed twice
printer 1 mapping tray 1
printer 2 mapping tray 2
User1 wants to print envelopes, shipping labels or ... So User1 open bypass (tray 1), puts correct material in and starts printing using "printer 1".
User2 wants to print large A4 Document. So User2 starts printing using "printer 2". Tray 2 is getting empty. Printer should hold, till tray 2 gets refilled. But printer continues printing using tray 1. But tray 1 has no A4. (we tried setting tray 1 from static, to bypass, to permanent, to dynamic, to static, to ... vice versa)
We do not want the printer to decide where to print from.
We want printing using printer 1 using tray 1 without any prompt (material conflict or whatever) and pausing if tray 1 is empty.
We want printing using printer 2 using tray 2 without any prompt (material conflict or whatever) and pausing if tray 2 is empty.
If it starts on the right tray and moves to the wrong tray, that implies Auto Tray Switching is enabled.
