Thanks for confirming the issue with us Jim, it is appreciated.
Glad I could help!

Great call Tim! It was the UPS...such a high pitched sound..it sounded like it was coming from the printer....whats funny is I had a Xerox tech out to another one of our locations..with the same issue and although he said there was no speaker in that model..we couldn't figure it out! :smileyfrustrated: Thanks for your time!!!
Thanks Jim. Let us know what you find out.
Thank you,
Tim
Thanks for the reply Tim,
When the Power Saver was on..the printer would beep the entire time that the printer was warming up...I have since turned the Power Saver off...and that beeping went a way...I'll verify that the sound is infact coming from the printer..it sure sounds like it...a very high pitched beep...however there is an older UPS hooked up to the printer which is very close to the printer as well.....I'll check when I get back to the office...possibly it's trying to pull too much from the old UPS....that could very well be the situation!
Thanks!
Jim
jdh,
The Phaser 5550 doesn't have any speakers in it that would be making a beeping noise. Is it possible that the customer has these machines plugged into some kind of UPS or battery backup that is making the noise? Is it more of a chirp that could be mechanical related?
If it is a mechanical chirp than service will probably need to come take a look at the machine. If it is a beep, it has to be coming from somewhere other than the printer.
Thank you,
Tim
Thanks for the reply...I had a tech out regarding a different model for the same thing...whats strange is I have one that hasn't been touched by a tech..and that one does not beep....I'll contact support...thank you
Hi jdh,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. I believe the beeps are something the technician has to adjust or turn off. Please consider contacting your support centre or technician for further assistance.
I still have not figured this out...the beeping is driving my customer nuts! Anyone have any ideas?
I would like to turn off the audible beeps as the printer is printing. Originally the major issue was the beep upon warm-up but I've since disabled that...however, it also beeps twice for each page that it's printing.
Is there a way to turn off the audible beeping? I have two of these printers...one of them beep..the other doesn't..I've compared the firmware and settings between the two printers and all is identical with the exception of network settings.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
