Re: Phaser 6020 fusing problems

Jump to solution

Any issue with fusing is an issue with one of 2 things

1. Humidity or unsupported stock

2. Heat (too much, flakes, too little, smudges)

You won't get the right heat if you don't set the stock right in the printer, Labels are much heavier than plain, fusing issues will happen, so if the stock isn't set, do so.

The Printer Setting Utility is installed on the computer when the print driver is installed. The utility has three tabs that help to monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot printer functions.

To adjust the paper type:

  1. Launch the Printer Setting Utility.
  2. Click the [Printer Maintenance] tab.
  3. Click [Adjust Paper Type].
  4. For Plain Paper or Labels, change the paper type.
  5. Click [Apply New Settings].

Heat can be set by the voltage.Which is done via the printer Setting Utility as well

Use Adjust Fuser for optimum print quality across a wide range of paper types.

  • If the toner on a print is smearing or can be rubbed off the paper, increase the offset for the paper you are using.
  • If the toner is blistered or mottled, decrease the offset for the paper you are using.

To Adjust the Fuser:

  1. From the computer, click on [Start], click on [All Programs], and then click on [Xerox Office Printing].
  2. Click on the printer name, and then click on [Printer Setting Utility].
  3. Click on the [Printer Maintenance] tab.

NOTE: For information about using the Printer Setting Utility, click on [Help] in the Printer Setting Utility window.

  4. Click [Adjust Fuser].
  5. Change the offset value for the paper that you are using.
  6. Click [Apply New Settings].

I'm hoping someone can help. I have only had my printer a few months and now running into problems with the fuser. I print labels, all well to start no problems, but now I'm having problems with part of my labels not fusing properly only in a certain placexerox.jpg
