Hello,
I have a Phaser 6125 that has issues printing black. It prints black text as a very faint grey, and will not print any black in images. It has a new toner cartridge. There are no error messages showing, although it was displaying 061 370 for a while, but it seems to have got over that!
Can anyone help me?
Thanks
Anyone? Looks like this printer will have to be junked otherwise, which seems like a huge waste (and, Xerox, a pitiful lifespan for one of your machines!)
Hello stratos66,
The Phaser 6125 Knowledge Base has articles that explain the different things that you can try doing to fix faint or faded prints. Click here to go to the Knowledge Base and then just type, "light faint faded" just as I did here and click search. Click on the first search result and you will see two different actions to try which are both very quick and easy to do. Hopefully, one of these articles will get you back up and running. There are other things besides these two actions that you could try, but I don't think they are the cause of what you're seeing. Try them if you like, they are in the search results that I mentioned above. If all of that fails, you could try another brand new toner cartridge.

Any luck with this? I have the same issue. And, you sight has over 120 views, so it must be an issue
Hey, a new toner cartridge is $85. Where can I go to resolve the issue.
We purchased this for school and worked for a while very well, six months and since then all grey.
Hello westeditor,
What steps have you taken to try and resolve the issue so far? Have you gone to the Knowledge Base and searched for the "Light Faint Faded" solutions as I advised in my previous post? There is a link to the Knowledge Base in that earlier post in this thread.

I have exactly the same problem with my 6125. Black has gone feint. Print is even over the whole page and consistent from page to page as though printing in draft, which is even feinter.
Been to the knowledge base and checked for sealing tapes, cleaned the window, tried new paper, always used genuine toner which is good but tried a new one anyway, but still the same. Print count is only 4010 so what's wrong with it?
Hello bigwold,
When you print a configuration report or startup page, does that come out faint and faded as well? If this report that gets generated from within the printer itself prints very faint just like the print/copy jobs then the problem is with the machine itself or the supplies (the toner cartridge etc.) If the report comes out looking fine and its only the print/copy jobs that are faint, then the driver or settings are not correct. So, let me know what your configuration report or your startup page looks like and we'll go from there.

Thanks for your reply JohnM
Printer generated reports are faded the same as PC generated prints.
The demo page (two horses and jockeys) compared with one I printed when printer was new, is very slightly paler overall, so only noticeable on a side by side comparison, but the black text is feint as in other prints. Not sure if you're familiar with the demo page, but black appears to be totally missing in the picture where it should be present.
It seems as though there is a hardware issue since I think you tried a new toner cartridge already??? If not, and you have an extra cartridge available, you can try a replacement cartridge. Outside of that, there isn't anything else that I can do remotely. You will have to contact Xerox Service to schedule a technician to look at it.
