Hi, I had the same problem with one standard capacity magenta and one high capacity black toner, both original Xerox.
I found on the internet how to open the toner cartridge, the document name is: "Xerox_Phaser_6180_Toner_catridge_Remanufacturing_eng.pdf". It is not complicate but try first to open a used toner cartridge. I used alcohol to clean the rubber roller (PCR or BCR as Xerox calls it), put everything back and the cartridge was fine again. Obviously this is a manufacturing problem. Good luck!
Gabi, you were absolutely right. I tried TWO ORIGINAL XEROX toners that had a similar defect. Spoke to supplier and to Xerox; both claimed the printer must be defective.
Purchased a refill knock-off for a quarter of the price of an original and it works fine!!!
Needless to say I am shocked by this total lack of responsibility by Xerox. Big warning to all users: expensive original Xerox toner cartridges are no guarantee at all for proper functioning.

Both new original Xerox toner cartridges were acquired from an authorized seller on different dates and show identical problems.
I am not doubting your expertise, it just seems very unlikely they both have an identical problem unless Xerox had a problem with a certain production batch. If that is the case, I expect Xerox would take responsibilty. Will give Xerox a call to find out.

Even if you replaced the cartridge I assure you is defective. If you have buy it from Xerox or from an authorized partner claim the warranty.
Out 10yr old phaser 6180mfp was functioning extremely well until last week. After replacing an empty cyan cartridge with a new one (original Xerox), the printer started printing a blue (Cyan) pattern when printing in color.
Suspecting a defective toner cartridge, we replaced it with another new original Xerox cartridge,unfortunately to no avail. The fuser unit and transfer belt unit had both been replaced fairly recently (about a year ago).
I have seen similar reports of the phenomenon but none offered a solution. Can anyone shed some light on this please?
