Thanks for this update
HOWEVER!
I have updated the drivers as you specified.Would you please be more specific as to the printer port and how I need to identify?
I added the new port. lp but I don't see the other settings you are referring to.
Still getting errors and now nothing will print, including the TEST PAGE> Please help, I've just spent over 400.00 on new toner since my old computer was working but I had to get a new lenovo yoga 64bit Windows 8.1 system.
Thanks.
M.
Hi EagleX,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. I consulted an SME on this product and here is what he suggested: don't use the V 4 driver. Please try the Global driver. "They need to install the driver, then go into the printers port and make it LPR, with “lp” as the queue name, make sure “LPR byte Counting” is not enabled, SNMP doesn’t matter." If this still does not help please consider contacting your local support centre.
I didn't know that. Thanks
There is no Administration Tab in Windows 8.1 built in driver. You can find it in Xerox Global Print Driver.
I installed the built in driver from Windows 8.1 after pressing the Window update tab and was able to print a test page which stated that I have installed the printer correctly. However, as Ralph mentioned before, I was not able to print anything from Word, Excel, email, etc. Also, after installing the built in Phaser 6180 driver, I opened the driver setting and it does not have a tab for administrator but a tab for configuration. However, that tab does not allow me to make any changes, it only has a box for me to check if I want high speed printing. Am I in the right tab. Sorry for being so computer challenged,
Joe
Hi,
Install this driver. Once the driver correctly installed, open the driver settings and select the Administration tab.
Change the Congituration drop menu from Basic Print Mode to Xerox Phaser 6180 DN (if only printer) or 6180 MFP (if multifunction).
I hope this works :)
I have exactly the same problem with my Phaser 6180 that is not printing with my new desktop with Windows 8.1 X 64 except that I used the driver that came with Windows 8.1.t I had to do this manually as Windows was not able to detect the Phaser 6180. After finishing all the set up to add the printer, it asked me to print a test page and that's where I received the error message that the function cannot be performed. I tried printing other documents, emails, with the same problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Joe
Hi you!
I suggest using the built in drivers for this machine.
If that does not work, have you done any changes to the global print driver?
Best Regards
Kimzi

I have just purchased a new laptop using Windows 8.1 64 bit. I have a Phaser 6180, and it is not printing. I have downloaded the X-GPD drivers (From Web version) and the X-GPD 64 bit version, and installed both of these with no luck. The odd thing is that when I am asked to print a test page, it does print. But not when I want to print any type of document, email, etc.... Any help would be greatly appreciated.
