I'm am having problems printing in color on a Phaser 6180MFP-D printer. It prints in what seems to be greyscale.
I'm using this PPD file:
LinuxCupsPrinterPkg/xrx6180dn.ppd
That I downloaded and extracted from https://www.support.xerox.com/en-us/content/61334
I'm running Xubuntu 20.04 with CUPS 2.3.1.
I am able to setup the printer using CUPS from its web interface, but when printing a page from Google Chrome, it prints out in greyscale.
I've looked through all of the settings and they seem like they are all set correctly to print in color. I don't know what all of the color-related settings do, but none of them say "print in black" or "print in greyscale".
Here is a screenshot of the CUPS page with the relevant options:

I am able to print in color from Windows 10 using the drivers I installed per https://forum.support.xerox.com/t5/Printing/Phaser-6180MFP-D-How-to-enable-2-sided-double-sided-prin...
So this seems like a PPD specific or CUPS specific configuration setting that I'm simply figuring out.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Brent
Hello bgoodr,
I have info on how to set up default color option in Windows. For Cups, I would recommend speaking with the 2nd Level Network Support Specialist at: 1-800-821-2797
I called 1-800-821-2797. It had an automated system that requires me to supply a serial number. I could not find one on the back of the printer. I searched for "serial" inside the user guide but it showed nothing. How do I find the number to answer the automated system on the phone?
Hello bgoodr,
Please use this link to find the serial number for your printer.
Hi,
You can find machine serial number on the printed Configuration Report, or by removing the fuser module on a label on the left side of the chassis.
