Check the image again, SGA. It is a chart indicating different problems depending on the pattern interval.

Disregard the last post.  While I bought magenta toner a year ago, I installed it in July - which very well could coincide when this started.

I just went through my toner replacement receipts and realize I haven't replaced the Magenta in a long time (more than a year) and it is still showing as Full on the display.  I don't know if this could be an indicator that something is awry with that particular toner cartridge.

I printed the image you provided - it printed out at a square with a triangle in it.  The dimensions of the square are consistent with the spacing of the pattern in the vertical direction holding a sheet in portrait.  Am I using this correctly?

Also, if it is a toner issue, is it safe to assume since the marks are reddish, it would be the magenta toner?

Heya!

This means that its probably one of the toners/drums thats the problem.

I do have the repeating defect document for this machine if you wanna measure:

Thanks!

Kimzi,

I made a copy in color and the pattern appeared, oddly not as dark as it has been and darker on the right side of the page, lighter as it progressed to the left.

I scanned the same color item to PDF, no pattern.

Heya!

Do you have a scanner?

If so can you make a color copy and see if the problem is internal or not?

Thanks!

Phaser 6180MFP Pattern Printing

Jump to solution
Product Name: Other - specify product in post

My Phaser 6180MFP has recently started printing a faint consistent red pattern across any documents containing color or b/w photos.  The pattern is similar to a small rectangle with the bottom left and top right corners swished down/up respectively.  The pattern is spaced 1" horizontally and vertically.  I am using the 6180MFP-N PCL6 driver and have tried the 6180 MFP-N PS driver, same results.  The pattern appears throughout the page including outside the limits of the photo.  As a test, I created a spreadsheet, shaded the cells for the majority of the sheet - printed the spreadsheet with the shaded cells, no pattern.  If I insert a photo into the same spreadsheet and print it again, the pattern appears on the photo, the shaded spreadsheet cells, and the reimainder of white space on the sheet.  Delete the photo and print again, no pattern.  Any thoughts?
