Hi,
Replace the magenta cartridge.
Gabi
I am having the same issue with my Xerox 6180 printer. The red dots are all over the page at RANDOM. No fixed distance like others have (1.18"). I was told to clean the lens. I did. I still have the same issue as before and only for pages that have text in color (even just one word in color) , but not for pages with all black text.
Why is this happening?
Any help would be welcomed
I have installed 2 new OEM cartridges and I continue to have this issue. The lens (led) on the left side have been cleaned for all of the cartrdiges. I see that numerous people have this same issue with identical patterns at the same spacing and none of the suggestions have worked. This does not appear to be random as it is an identical pattern, shape and spacing to the other posts I've seen.
Hi Scooter,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. If you have already tried a new cartridge and that did not fix the problem you would need to have someone look at the machine. Please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.
I am having the same issue. It only prints these lines when I select color. No lines when printing the same document in B&W. I have replaced the magneta cartridge (only 1/3 used) twice and the lines are still showing. These are brand new OEM Xerox cartridges. I cannot believe that all of them are bad? Could this be another issue causing this?
Thanks
IF you replaced magenta and started getting magenta marks, then the magenta cartridge is the issue.
If they are genuine Xerox parts they can be returned to Xerox as defective for replacement (If purchased from Xerox)
Most online retailers offer exchange for defective parts as well.
Xerox gives 60 days for exchanges outright, longer if you go through support and it is deemed a failure of the part.
I am experiencing the problem with the hash marks across the entire page when printing in color ever since I replaced my "magenta" "Xerox" cartridge. Before I go spend another $150+ on another cartridge (because I do purchase genuine Xerox products) .... am I understanding correctly that the problem is with the cartridge itself? Do I need to replace my Magenta Cartridge?
I'm just wanting to be sure I understand/am clear in what I am reading as the solutions that are working for others who have experienced this same "hash mark/pattern printing problem" with their 6180MFP.
By the way: The hash marks only appear when printing in color. If I change the print setting to black/white only, there is not problem at all with print quality.
Thank you in advance to any and all who respond. I am sincerely appreciative of your time.
I replaced the toner cartridge - it worked. Thanks much.
Heya!
And sorry for not specifying enough, you are supposed to compare the repeating defect with the chart. (I would indeed think its the print cartridge that's at fault)
Thanks!
