Phaser 6280 Won't Acknowledge MPT

I have the same issue.  It just started ignoring my mpt and I have no idea how to fix it.  I have windows 10 os and have no idea how to get this printer to start working again.  The interesting thing is that I can print envelopes with no problem but any other size such as 81/2 by 11 will just automatically default to tray 2 no matter what I specifly.

U da man!  This has been driving me nuts and wasting lots of time.  As obvious as it should be to use a old printer driver that actually worked, that didn't occur to me.  Thanks for figuring that out.  And, to Xerox...what on earth were you guys thinking to have the latest printer driver far less functional than the old one (in terms of operating systems)????  Come on!!

For those who may be having the same issue, I figured out what worked for me.For some unknown reason, my Windows 8 computer does not like the recommended Global Print Drivers for my Xerox 6280 printer. So, I went back down to the Windows 7 - 64 bit drivers, and I can now use my MPT again!!!!

I hope this works for someone else.

Thank you for your response, unfortunately it does not solve my issue as I could automatically select the MPT from my laptop without physically changing the settings on my printer.

The printer interface on my laptop allows me to select the MPT, but unfortunately the printer still does not acknowledge the selection.

Because my printer is out of warranty, I will be charged a $25 fee for call support troubleshooting which may not work. I don't have that kind of money to gamble with.

Thank you for using the Support Forum. Please take a look at the solution for selecting the correct paper type, this is important is printing from the MPT and may be part of the issue you are seeing.  If this does not fix your issue please consider contacting your support centre for further assistance.

I just purchased a Toshiba laptop running Windows 8.1. I had a hard time figuring out which drivers would work. I downloaded the Global Printer Driver and the PCL6 Driver from Xerox's website. I even downloaded something called the 6280 Series Class Driver. I'm not sure which one finally worked, but they're all loaded on my computer. That process in itself was a bit confusing.

I use my MPT quite often, so I tried to test it out. The printer interface allowed me to select the MPT, but on the printer display, it showed "WPS        Tray 2" and the printer only printed from Tray 2. I replicated the same issue using Adobe Acobat and Microsoft Word 2010. Any help in figuring out how to re-set the settings to make the printer print from the MPT would be greatly appreciated.
