Re: Phaser 6280 won't print on wifi network

Ha! It misbehaved again -- it just says "Data Wait USB" with a green flashing light forever, and then gives up. So I printed out the config page and it says "Getting IP Address..."!

Re: Phaser 6280 won't print on wifi network

How to install a printer

How to get the IP address

  • Press the [Menu] button on the Control Panel.
  • Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button until 'Information' is selected on the Display Screen, and then press the [OK] button.
  • Press the [Up] or [Down] arrow button until 'Configuration Page' is selected, and then press the [OK] button. The IP address will be on the Configuration Page.

Press the [Menu] button to exit.

Re: Phaser 6280 won't print on wifi network

Thanks, and sorry for not replying sooner. Of course, now the printer is being recognized on the network and printing properly. :)
But in case it misbehaves again, can you please spell out the steps for installing the printer manually? How do I find out its IP address?

Cheers,

Madeline

No idea on the issue but a good resolution would be to install it manually and choose HP Jet Direct for the port

Phaser 6280 won't print on wifi network

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hi, I have a Mac running OS 10.12.6 (Sierra) and a wifi network created by a Time Capsule. My computer recognizes the printer on the wifi network, but looks for the printer and then, eventually, says "Unable to locate printer" -- the printer shows up as "in use" in the dialog box, and then shows green if I cancel the print job. I can print perfectly well if I connect the printer to my computer by USB. I have reinstalled the driver several times (although I am not certain I uninstalled the previous driver properly). The driver is version 3.2, which I downloaded from the Xerox website.

Any clues why this might have happened, and how I can fix it?
Thanks.
