Phaser 6500 not Recognising New Cartridge

I posted this on the Hardware forum but there's been no response, so I'm hoping for better luck here - 


I replaced the black toner cartridge, but it's not been recognised as I'm still getting the message to replace the cartridge.


There are several postings about this problem, and one answer given was -

"Did you remember to shake the cartridge and also turn it after insertion?"


I've shaken the cartridge many times, but how can i turn it after insertion?


Does anyone know of a solution to this problem?
