Re: Phaser 6500 prints straight horizontal lines on the whole page within all colors

Hello,

I had the same problem, i fixed it with the very good recommodation in these posts.

But now I have an new problem. If I print something, the print-out is very weak. It is not strong enough to read it normaly.

Can anybody help me?

I have already done a toner refresh black (after initialize nvm and clean developer because of the stripes).

What can I do?

thx

Daniel

Re: Phaser 6500 prints straight horizontal lines on the whole page within all colors

1. On the Control Panel, press Menu.
2. Press the Up or Down arrow to find Admin Menu. Press OK.
3. Press the Up or Down arrow to find Maintenance Mode. Press OK.

4. Find 'Clean Developer' in this field. Press OK.

This worked for me and I had the same problem! Hopefully you/others find this useful!

Re: Phaser 6500 prints straight horizontal lines on the whole page within all colors

I have access to NVRAM reset.

Tryed it twice. At point №7 we expect "The Maintenance Mode - Initialize NVM menu appears when the process is completed", instead printer reboots, prints startup page with stripes and sais Ready.

How to test the imaging unit and laser unit?

Regards,

Ivan

Re: Phaser 6500 prints straight horizontal lines on the whole page within all colors

Hi again!

So you get stripes even when copying/printing a blank white paper?

If you have access to the admin menu, you could try a NVRAM reset, but that might not help you in any wayl:

1. On the Control Panel, press Menu.
2. Press the Up or Down arrow to find Admin Menu. Press OK.
3. Press the Up or Down arrow to find Maintenance Mode. Press OK.
4. Press the Up or Down arrow to find Initialize NVM. Press OK.
5. Are you sure? message is displayed. Press OK to start the process.
6. Initializing... --> Initialized messages are displayed.
7. The Maintenance Mode - Initialize NVM menu appears when the process is
completed.
8. Turn the printer power Off and back On.

Parts that can cause the defects you are experiencing are (in that order):

Imaging Unit
Laser Unit
Toner Cartridge K
Toner Cartridge C
Toner Cartridge M
Toner Cartridge Y
Fuser (this it cannot be, as you already stated that its on the transfer belt before entering the fuser)
Transfer Belt
IP Board
MCU Board

Best Regards

Kimzi

Re: Phaser 6500 prints straight horizontal lines on the whole page within all colors

Hi

"If you run a few blank pages / all white, does this still appear?

say five pages or something like that."

- it does not depend on number of pages printed. When i print - i get stripes.

"you could also open the machine when printjob is ongoing to see where this happens, but if its already on the transfer belt then it does sound like a drum problem."

- Yes, this is not a drum problem either belt problem. I can clean the belt via the printer menu (i can see clean belt after cleaning), but when i print smth it come out with stripes.

"Do you have any drum, to be able to replace atleast one just to see if the specific colored line disappear? Cause it could also be the belt if unlucky."

- Do not have :(

"It seem to be a repeating defect which indicates a roller/cylinder formed part should be the cause."

- I think this is smth electronical or firmware...

How to make factory reboot?

Where can i get latest firmware?

How to load firmware?

Why startup page is always printed on power on?

Thanks a lot,

Ivan

Re: Phaser 6500 prints straight horizontal lines on the whole page within all colors

Hello

There are no physical defects on drums and on the transfer belt.

When the printer is switched on we always have startup page printed automatically (i don't remember if it was like this before the error in the subj) and it has colored stripes on it.

After the startup page is printed printer reports READY on the display.

If we open the front cover to see the transfer belt - we can see that these colored stripes are already projected on the transfer belt.

So if we print smth, on the printed page we will see what were printing plus these stripes...

Firmware version 201104251233

Re: Phaser 6500 prints straight horizontal lines on the whole page within all colors

Hey you!

I suggest you have a look at the drums and see if you can find any defects, also at the transfer belt.

If you do not know how to do this, here is a small how to.

Re: Phaser 6500 prints straight horizontal lines on the whole page within all colors

No ideas :(

Maybe

1. To make a reset to factory defaults? But i do not know how to make a factory reboot procedure...

2. To install new firmware? But there is no firmware to download from Xerox support site for this model ....

Any help?

Hey you!

Have you done anything to try to fix the problem?

as it could be more then one part being at fault.
