Hi APIPROD,
Thank you for using the Support Forum. What type of paper are you using? Take a look at the solutions for toner smears. I know you have already done some of these so concentrate on the ones having to do with the paper. Please let us know what type of paper you are using.
Any other ideas? At this point it's almost cheaper to just buy a new printer than spend time trying to figure it out...
The paper settings on the device
Hi again -- I just installed new xerox toner and still having issues. Are there any elements that I should try to clean out? A summary of the steps I've taken:
Replaced fuser
Replaced toner with Xerox
Ran "reset fuser", "clean developer", and "IU refresh"
Thanks...
Only 2 things cause unfused toner.
1. Fuser is bad
2. paper improperly programmed or unsupported.
The first one was taken care of by replacing the fuser, so check the tray settings to be sure it is not set as lightweight when printing heavyweight.(Or vice versa etc etc.)
And not to be that guy, but if you are using non-Xerox toner it may have an entirely different melt point in which case you won't be able to fix it without removing, cleaning it out and going back to Xerox toner.
Our phaser 6500 started printing improperly in the last few months. The toner on the paper feels grainy and will rub off. Doesn't seem to be as much of an issue with text only printing, but is really noticible with images. When printing multiple pages, part of the image from the previous page will get on to the next page. Recently replaced the fuser but it didn't really help. Any ideas?
