Thank you for the reply.

I ended up getting a replacement printer but the replacement doesn't print dark blacks either. It must be a design issue.

Re: Phaser 6510/DN Blacks are dark gray

Hi,

I would suggest you before going to increase the darkness of the black levels to troubleshoot you issue

is it from the print driver "software" or from the machine "hardware"

so to do that try to print a job " a report for example " from the printer itself so you can eliminate the software side

so At the printer control panel, press Menu.
Navigate to Print Reports, then press OK.
Navigate to Configuration, then press OK.
To print the report, at the prompt, press OK.

now you can note the black color of the output printed page is it the fine black or not ! if so then your issue will be in the driver otherwise i belive you have problem in the xeroghraphic assembly

now to answer you Question Is there a way to increase the darkness of the black levels?
yes there is ,just install the PostScript print Driver then change the settings as the attached

Phaser 6510/DN Blacks are dark gray

Product Name: Other - specify product in post
Operating System: Windows 10 x64

Unpacked a brand new Phaser 6510/DN today. The blacks are at most 80%. The other colors seem correct. I could not find any way to increase the darkness of the blacks in either the Windows 10 driver or via the panel on the printer.

Is there a way to increase the darkness of the black levels?

Could this be a bad printer, or do all 6510's print light blacks?
