there is a video on youtube where the guy has you go to the admin menu and do some sort of reset and this corrects it. after that use the printer panel to configure correct paper sizes and type by tray. once I did this I have had better results. I still use the printer but now also use a edge to edge printer and it is even pickier about sizes being 100% accurate so I now cut my paper myself with a venor paper cutter. good luck! if you cannot find the video on youtube I can try to search for it.

I’m having the same problem. Tried the recommended paper stock but continually jams. Such a waste of money but I’d like to get it sorted.

I have this same issue on the 6510.  I really do not want to buy a new printer to fix a simple problem.

I already had the proper paper settings on both the printer and the software (8.5"x11" Glossy Cardstock). I had downloaded the Mac driver and made sure the settings were correct on every print, but the 6510 was just unusable.

No kudos.

The solution was upgrading to a Versalink C500. It's not perfect, as sometimes two color pages go through at a time, but it doesn't jam or register a jam, and none of the pages get misregistered or print as useless. So, if two pages go through at a time, I can pull the bottom one and re-use it, whie the top one printed perfectly. Out of every 20 pages, there might be two blanks.

Black and white pages go through without a problem.

Hello bpr103,

You need to make sure the paper in the tray and on the control panel description matches EXACTLY to the paper in the print menu. Size, type, and orientation need to match EXACTLY or you will get a jam message.

Thanks,

Phaser 6510 Jamming 80lb Cover Stock

Jump to solution
Product Name: Phaser 6510
Operating System: macOS 10.14 - Mojave

Looking for a color laser printer that will reliably print ~40 pages at a time without jamming, and I though I found my dream machine with the Phaser 6510. I use perforated Exact Gloss Coated 80lb Cover stock (216 gsm) to print memorial cards and am at my wits' end.

I love the Phaser 6510 except for the fact that every page reads as a jam and I have to pull the bypass tray, reset and wait. That happens for every page, and this model is supposed to print up to 220 gsm. I'm using Glossy Cardstock as the media, downloaded the Xerox driver and used the Xerox specific settings in the print dialogue... Tried various voltage offsets and fuser temps. The images are beautiful when they come out, but it's just too cumbersome a process. I need something I can set and forget.

Am I doing something wrong?

(BTW, I used another brand's budget color laser for ~8 years with no problem until it suddenly had multiple issues--fuser, transfer belt--possibly because I was abusing it with heavier paper than it was rated for).
