Phaser 6510 colour blotchy

I have just got a Phaser 6510, however the colour, if doing a biggish patch, is very blotchy - does anyone know how to fix this? and how do I do a colour & paper calibration on this particular model?

As you can see from the pictures, both the blue and the red are patchy (it happens on black too) and in the 3rd pic, instead of being smooth, the ink is very scratchy and rough looking?
