FIXED!!!!!!!!!!!
I had the paper type on the printer's control panel set to "Letterhead" and once I changed to "Plain", it seems to be printing custom sizes! thanks, Joe.
Thanks Joe. You mentioned "You set the size as 6x6 on the printer, then the same in the driver and again in Word". the only choices for custom size on the printer is: portrait (Y) size and landscape (Y) size so i set to portrait 6" as the (X) size is not a choice. X is usually the width and Y the length. and i am sure i got it right in Word and the driver specifying the tray but still the 024-747 error.
Yes, mine is V3, note I am the guy who answered the one you linked
Thanks Joe. I am using the V4 driver and the custom sizes don't seem to show as choices. (The examples you posted look to be using the V3 driver, right?)
found the answer here:
(sounds like the V4 does not have as much capability in this regard as the V3.) the question becomes what do we give up in downgrading to the V3 and can the presets in V4 be saved and then restored to V3?
You set the size as 6x6 on the printer, then the same in the driver
And again in Word and be sure you choose a tray in Word too else you will get an error (it overrides the driver and Automatically Select cannot be trusted to work
Xerox Phaser 6510 DN (windows 10 64 bit, Xerox driver: V4) Once in a while I need to print a "custom size" that does not fit any of the choices available in the print driver drop downs. I print those from Microsoft word and in the application I use page setup to define the size which for example would be 6" X 6". I insert a piece of paper cut to that size but the printer stops with an error: 024-747 which I know is related to the wrong size paper. What am I missing? Thanks
