I know this is a very old post, but I had to say this helped me immensely! My phaser 6510 stopped printing from my desktop, but still Airprints from phones and tablets - no idea why it stopped wireless printing from my desktop, they are connected to the same network and I don't recall any changes/ updates around the time it stopped printing. I uninstalled/ reinstalled the printer several times, tried to connect with USB, still didn't work until I came across your post and switched the port to the USB. Yes, I know any IT person would know this, but I am not IT savvy AT ALL. I'll just keep the desktop connected via USB since it's in the same room as the printer. I was about ready to pull my hair out! Thank you!
Very strange. Tried RAW but made no difference. Turned off firewall but again no change. I finally set up a share on the printer on a PC that can print to it and then used it on the failing PC. Works OK but means the other PC has to be on which is not ideal.
Check the box for RAW and leave everything else as is, if it still fails it would have to be a firewall of some sort. It can't realistically be the printer since the other PC's work. So as long as theports match between the PC;'s, and all the PC's are connected to the same LAN hardware and all have the same Network mask and Gateway, it shouldn't be possible for them to behave differently.
Hi. Thanks for the help but unfortunately it doesn't resolve the problem. I removed the printer and reinstalled as recommended using the TCP/IP address. Printer was detected and installed but still unable to print to it. Job just stays in queue. Interesetingly, the Xerox Print Experience App finds the printer without any problem and can view printer status etc. Called Xerox support but will only investigate as a billable service. Any further tips most welcome!
Disable SNMP on the port on the affected PC.(Make sure nothing is in the print queue first)
Do not under any circumstance use a WSD port and make sure you don't pick the printer from the list when you install it, choose the printer I want isn't listed. (Because MS absolutely will convert it to WSD later)
I have a Xerox Phaser 6510 connected to an Ethernet network. Unit works OK printing from 2 PCs (1 Windows 7, 1 Windows 10) on same network but will not print from a 3rd (Windows 10 - jobs just stay in print queue). Can print from this PC to other (Canon) printer on network. Have uninstalled/reinstalled drivers several times but no change. Any suggestions welcome!
