Phaser 6700 doesn't print

Purchased a secondhand Phaser 6700. It gives no error messages (though the little light near the bottom right of the touchscreen is orange - I couldn't find any reference to what this means). It says "Ready to Print".

I've tried printing report/supply pages from the touchscreen. It says "Configuration Pages submitted to print" (or whatever other pages in leu of "configuration pages"), and nothing happens beyond that.

I've installed the printer successfully on 2 different network computers. Both show no errors, but when I print, the print jobs just sit in the queue until I reboot the printer, when they clear.  The same for a USB connected laptop.

I've never gotten a single page to print, but it gives me no errors.  Help?

The light should blink.

 

All errors blink the LED a certain number of times @ 2 Hz, pause for 2 seconds, and then repeat.

2 blinks RAM error Replace DIMM, if error persists, IP Board.
3 blinks FPGA error Update SW, if error persists, replace SD Card
4 blinks EEPROM error Replace IP board EEPROM
6 blinks UI Failure Replace the Control

 

Other than that, you could try simply resetting the NVRAM, which would put it back to the defaults. This is done by a certified technician, but could be done by someone who was to search a particular search engine starting with Goo for "phaser 6700 nvram" and choosing the Fixya link from the results ;-)

 

Failing that, sorry you got ripped off with a broken device.

Thanks. Once bootup finishes, it stays solid orange.  I just reset the NVRAM, and saw no change in the lack of printing. Sounds like I get to fight with the seller of the printer. *sigh*

Hi everybody, 

 

User of a Phaser 6700 for more than two years, and happy user up to now, I've got the same problem as you : 

 - no print of any page from any application from 2 or 3 different computers

 - no print of report/supply pages from the touchscreen

 - no error message

 - no blink of LED.

 

I've tried to reset the NVRAM, but no changes.

 

Do you find any solution for your problem?
