Re: Phaser 7400 Help

No hardware issues at all it's just been checked and serviced by Xerox.  If anyone else can help the common Xerox blue/purple problem that would be great.

Re: Phaser 7400 Help

Since you seem to have every possible color problem with this printer I suggest you stop trying to fix it yourself.

Have someone come take a look at it for hardware defects or buy another printer.

Software settings cannot fix hardware issues, and the settings I gave you apply to every manufacturer and every device from Ink to Toner to Solid Ink.

Re: Phaser 7400 Help

Alas that profile also prints blues as purple. I've noticed Postscript pass-through enabled produces the purple blues but with it disabled I can't control my color corrections (sRGB VIVID, SWOP, Display etc) which keeps the blues blue but other colors are way off!

Thanks, how should I use the ICC profile?

Re: Phaser 7400 Help

1. Latest PS driver is vastly superior to any PCL for color

2. Grab this file (Intended for a Mac) and open it with 7Zip / WinRAR, Winzip and you can pull out the icc file. Works from any OS

3. That would mean you are outputting RGB (the default in Acrobat/Reader), set it to Let Printer determine color.

Phaser 7400 Help

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Having a lot of problems with printed colors:

1. I don't have an install CD so I downloaded the postscript driver, would I have better color results using a PCL driver?

2. Under color management/devices/7400 my printer isn't associated directly with an ICC color profile and is set to automatic. All I see is generic profiles to choose from.. should I have/use a 7400-specific color profile?

3. If I print a test PDF with multiple colors/pictures I'll get good color CMYK but the blue will be purple and the light-green will be very dark, If I change one of the MANY conflicting settings I'll get good blues and greens but for example the Pink magenta will be a dark red. Where am I going wrong?
