Re: Phaser 7400DN - can't define output destination

There is a bug in later versions of Adobe Acrobat. If Print as Image is greyed out, you may need to open File->Document Properties->Fonts and try clicking on several different random options. The print dialog should then offer "Print as Image" as an option. (This actually DOES seem to work. Any complaints should be directed at Adobe.) More information about PDF troubleshooting is located here: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=316508

Re: Phaser 7400DN - can't define output destination

If Acrobat is the problem when printing, then the solution as always would be to File > Print > Advanced and enable Print as image

Re: Phaser 7400DN - can't define output destination

Update: I found a driver that has both, the "7400win2kms".

but, aparently this is a driver Adobe Acrobat (or Reader) can't handle.. All pages are printed half + an extra white page.

This is a common problem. To resolve this, you have to install the Global Print Driver which I obviously can't do because then I will be missing the options I need... :(

Re: Phaser 7400DN - can't define output destination

I have the same problem with my Phaser 7400DT.

There are two options.

or I get a driver with output options, without having the option to choose "use pure black ink"

or I get to choose "pure black ink" and no output options.

I print black and white cardstock so I need both options! Changing the options in the printer or webbased doesn't help.

Please help..

I have windows 7/ 32 installed.

Re: Phaser 7400DN - can't define output destination

I had the same issue and I managed to solve it today. I used a Mac OSX 10.6 and the output destination option never appeared with the right driver. So I downloaded the PPD file for MAC OS 9.x and finally the output destination option appeared and all the other functions worked!

I know this is an old post but anyway hope that it is helpful.

Good work

Re: Phaser 7400DN - can't define output destination

Hello AdiSan,

Let's start at the beginning... What version of OS are you running on your Mac?  What web browser are you using?  What version printer driver have you most recently loaded on your Mac?  What was the last version that you had that everything worked?

Basically, tell me everything that you did starting with the last time everything worked.

Re: Phaser 7400DN - can't define output destination

Hi John,

I wasn't able to download the global driver using firefox 4, but well using internet explorer 8..that's why I didn't test it the other day.

But it works perfectly with the global driver indeed.

Thanks for the tip, we'll leave that one on our print server.
