Ah yes, forgot to do that, thanks! :smileyembarrassed:

In any case, whatever the reason, I'm happy it's solved.

Thanks again and regards.

If you got it to work, please mark the thread as solved :)

I'm not really sure, the only thing I know is that some things can go wrong when the print job is translated to RAW.

Maybe someone else got more knowledge in just why this happens?

Hey Kimzi,

Thanks for the quick response!

We never use the bypass tray, but thanks for telling me this anyway (in case we might use it someday).

I checked the driver port settings and it was indeed on RAW. Changed it to LPR like you suggested and it seems to work (knocks on wood).

Thanks!

P.S.

I'm curious about why we never had any problems thus far, though (my collegues use double-sided printing like there's no tomorrow).

Any idea's why it suddenly popped up after about a year of use? There haven't been any network changes since.

Heya!

This fault code can occur because of a few different reasons.

Examples:

When you fill up the bypass tray with paper before it asks for it.

It can also be because the port in the driver is set to RAW, try setting this to LPR instead.

Start -> Devices and Printers/Printers and Faxes -> Printer Preferences/Properties -> Ports -> Configure Port

If this does not work, check firmware version and upgrade if necessary.

Hope this helps!

Thanks

Phaser 7500 engine failure on double-sided printing

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hi,

We own a Phaser 7500DX laserprinter for about a year now, and it has been working great until last week.

Every time a collegue (doesn't matter who) tries to print double-sided, the printer shows an engine failure error.

I've printed the error list, and it shows Code 45-310 Engine Failure (it started at page count 5533, the last one at 39383).

Like I said above, it only occurs on double-sided printing; one-sided printing works normally without problems.

Any idea what's going on/how to resolve this?

Regards
