Re: Phaser 7500 - how to repeat printing the last job?

Thanks for your response John, but it doesn't help as the jobs that need repeating are NOT being submitted through a computers' print spooler, rather they are coming from an FTP client built into a networked scanner.

And I read the guide before posting here! :smileysurprised:

The part that is frustrating is that nobody here needs these advanced features, like the ability to call up and repeat per-user passcode-protected stored jobs at the panel - just the simple feature of being able to repeat the last job printed. Back in the day, this used to be called photocopying if I remember correctly. There was this one company that was pretty good at it ..

Re: Phaser 7500 - how to repeat printing the last job?

Actually you can do something like that.  It starts with when you print and using some of the advanced print features.  By using one of these features you can print it multiple times.  However if you print something without using one of the features you cannot recall the last print.

Saved Print Job -

Stores the job on the hard drive so you can print it on demand from the control panel. The job is not deleted after printing.

Personal Saved Print Jobs

Stores the job on the hard drive, with your passcode so that only you can print it from the control panel in order to print it. The job is not deleted after printing.

You can read about the features on PAGE 94 of the advanced user guide.  Advanced Printer Guide

If you're looking for a quote (someone mentioned above) feel free to contact me by email.  Its listed in my profile.  I work for Xerox and my sales group specializes in Phaser and Colorqube products and some of the smaller Workcentre multifunctions.  Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Re: Phaser 7500 - how to repeat printing the last job?

Is there any chance of someone pointing me in the right direction to get a non-default configuration going?

This is a pretty important feature for us, and maybe $7000 is peanuts for a lot of companies, but it's a lot for a small business. I should have done more homework before buying this printer.

This feature has been around for a long time- it's called a RIP and it is available on higher end machines.

Does anyone know if there is a request process for upcoming firmware features?

Re: Phaser 7500 - how to repeat printing the last job?

Really? It seems like such a simple thing, especially considering this is a Xerox machine and I just want to make COPIES of printjobs!!

The Phaser has the productivity kit installed - I added it to handle PDFs directly and assumed something like auto-storing and repeating jobs would be possible. Is there any of kind of programmable interface I can get to for this kind of thing?

Thanks for the response BTW

Phaser 7500 - how to repeat printing the last job?

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Hi,

Does anyone know of a way to repeat the last job printed on the Phaser 7500? I have a setup where a scanner auto-uploads a PDF to the Phasers FTP server. The problem is if someone wants more than one copy, there is no apparent way on the Xerox front panel to repeat this job.

Any references to this type of job control in the manuals appear to assume a computer+user job submission paradigm. It would be great if there were a way to program the Phaser to popup a panel prompt for # of copies when a job is submitted via the FTPD from a particular IP address...

But just being able to repeat the last job from the panel would be workable and more likely methinks. Anyone?
