Phaser 7500DT - Card stock printing crooked

Hi,

I just bought a used 7500DT with only 12,000 prints on it. It seems to work fine but when I print on 199gsm card stock, it prints crooked. How can I fix this issue? I thought this printer was supposed to handle up to 280gsm.

Thanks,
Seth

Crooked feeding is a rollers issue, they can be cleaned, and the pickup rollers can be replaced, but first you would need to make sure the tray is properly programmed for the stock you loaded, if programmed as plain paper, the color will be wrong, the toner could possibly be unfused, and jams can and do occur often when improperly set, all that as well as the crooked feeds.

Re: Phaser 7500DT - Card stock printing crooked

Hi Joe,

I set the paper as "thick card stock". That should do the trick right? Does this mean I need ot replace the rollers? Is there anything else I should try before doing that?

If it happens the same from all trays (There must be at least 2) there would have to be an issue with the printer itself, but if it happens from a particular tray, the rollers are the culprit.

I won't say the roller(s) will fix the issue either, but I can state they are the likely problem.

I'm just a guy troubleshooting from a few sentences, so I can't say if it will be money well spent.

Ok, I realized that I was making a mistake selecting the paper. I thought it was thick card stock but it should have been input as regular card stock. That did the trick.

Although while I was trying all the trays, I noticed that tray 1 will not detect that card stock is in place even when it is. Regular paper is detected fine and trays 2 and 3 detect card stock just fine.

Thanks Joe for your help.

Thanks Joe for your help.

Just paid $320 to Xerox tech to find out that the real issue is a corrupted "network settings chip" -- a white SD card on the IP board (the main controller board). The card can get corrupted when there's a power outage. The part seems easy to replace. Hope this saves you a $320 service call. The relevant Xerox service bulletin is Document ID 644648.

GrantFlower, I assure you, in no way is a network settings chip in any way causing paper to feed incorrectly.

The white SD card is bios for entire printer.
