Phaser 7500DT, black type prints faded

So, I've been trying to solve this with no luck. I did a calibration, printed solid colour test pages, it only seems to happen with type. Whenever we print (4 users on a network) something with type. the characters are thin and faded. What should be pure black prints grey. The characters aren't jaggy, just faded. Any hints?

Go into Start > Devices and Printers

Right-click the printer and choose Printing Preferences > Advanced

Change the highlighted to match the settings shown and try a print, it probably will fix it.

Hi Joe, thanks for the advice. However, it didn't make a difference. The type still looks the same. BTW, I'm on a Mac running OSX 10.11.5

Re: Phaser 7500DT, black type prints faded

So making the changes in CUPS did nothing? That would make for a very starnge issue if Black text is using Pure black and yet comes out gray. I would have to assume an RGB output intent on the submission application controlling the color as opposed to the printer.

Check that here

Then verify the defaults in CUPS, reboot and resubmit a job

In the above screenshot, the TextColorCorrection has a BW option, I am not certain what that would dowith intentionally colored text.

Re: Phaser 7500DT, black type prints faded

Thanks again, Joe.

Unfortunately, it's still happening. The big issue is that this happens to type that is lighter both in weight and colour. I don't know if this helps. I printed a page and took a photo of it.

Re: Phaser 7500DT, black type prints faded

To quote you:

"Whenever we print (4 users on a network) something with type. the characters are thin and faded. What should be pure black prints grey."

And now you are posting a picture that says right on it that it is 50% grey, not black

Make the file a single page pdf/x and post it here as an attachment so I know what I am actually trying to troubleshoot. Otherwise I can go no further.
