Re: Phaser 7700GX Printing too dark

Thank you for your suggestions...  I was not able to get the PDF sent to the printer..  I went to the printer through my browser but the page that I get didn't have any place to send a file...  I was able to install the Global drivers and they did make a difference in the printout.  Though they are a little lighter, the Global driver brings another set of issues.  The color match is off and the quality of the print is significantly reduced.  Also, if I use the default Automatic select tray, the global driver thinks that tray 1 is the MP tray and I cannot select the first tray on the printer...  So, unless there is some kind of hardware setting I can make, I guess I'm just gonna have to live with this..

P.S> - I set up a PC with Windows XP 32 bit and loaded the old 32 bit drivers.  It now seems that they print the same way as the new 64 bit driver.  SO I guess something has changed in my printer hardware that is causing this problem...

Thanks again for your insight and time...

Re: Phaser 7700GX Printing too dark

Hi,
I'm almost sure that is something with the driver, but just to be sure, please do this simple test. From one of your applications do a PDF. Make sure you have an image in it that you can evaluate the colour quality. Send this PDF to the printer, don't open and print, just send the file. You can use the printer web page to do that.
If the colour is correct then is a driver problem.
To solve the driver issue, please try to install the Global Print Driver. You can get it from www.xerox.com/global

Phaser 7700GX Printing too dark

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

Running Windows 7 64bit drivers.  Printing very dark bit map images (jpg, png) from several software programs (Corel PhotoPaint X6, Surething Labeler, ACDSee v15, Microsoft Word). ACDSee has a gamma adjustment that allow for adjustment and will correct brightness to an acceptable level.  Colors are generally correct other than being dark (Over saturated).  This problem started when I switched to 64bit vice 32bit windows and started using driver from 32_64bitw2kps downloaded from Xerox site. The old 32 bit drivers printer very accurate images.  Nothing has changed in teh printer other than the drivers.  I have run color calibration several times and this does not affect darkness problem.

Any help or suggestions appreciated....
