I recently got a new Mac and installed the new Mavericks driver. My old Mac was also running Mavericks but did not give me a problem. The image quality settings do not seem to work. Not matter what I change, it defaults back to the standard resolution when printing. I changed the defaults in the printer to Enhanced with image smoothing, but unless I view the driver image quality settings, it may or may not default back to Standard again when printing. I can't figure out why this is happening. Any ideas?
I think I just fixed it myself. I set defaults for image quality in CUPS. While there were no options to do this in the Printer & Scanners Settings, CUPS had all the options. Not sure why you need to use CUPS to do this, but glad it did.
