Does your recommendation of updating the firmware resolve the problems associated with the network drop?
Hi,
Contact your local support and try to speak with the second level software. They can provide you the latest firmware.
We just started having the same issue here. Can't keep the printer online for more than 10 minutes or so. Constantly have to power it off and then back on.
Updated firmware to the latest greatest.
I even turned off as many protocols (ethertalk, etc.) that I could get away with and still no change.
This is very disturbing for such an expensive printer and no answers from Xerox with a solution. We are running windows 7 64 bit on all the machines here (we have about 10 computers on the network)
All of them are using the global print driver PS since all of the other drivers seem to have a problem and don't show any paper size above letter (can't print tabloid and that is a non starter for us) Not sure what that problem is all about either.
Xerox....please fix this asap. Don't make us have to buy another company's printer to fix this.
Thanks
Ed
I am having the same issue with my Xerox 7760GX. Did anyone figure something out?
It sounds like a network setting but im not sure what.
hi
i did disable the power save but still it disconnecting from the network.
5.2.1 is the latest. Try disabling power saver.
The printer disconnecting from the network while no jobs in the server or printer Q.
I suspect its happened when the printer enter power save mode.
No communication available to the printer - no ping, no web communication to the printer.
Internal test pages can printed fine and the machine behave normally, no error code, except network communication.
We replace NIC network board and configuration chip (sim card on the network board). Also we replace the power board.
Its important to know that after restart to the printer the machine is back on with full communication and can print.
After another 10 - 15 min this problem comes again.
I suspect that the machine disconnecting or shut down IP connection maybe because there is no respond from the switch or gateway problem.
Usually the machine need to ignore it and keep working with IP communication but it doesn't - maybe there is new firmware which fix it?
any idea ?
It can be a corrupted configuration chip especially if it happens with large jobs.
hello
i have a phaser 7760 machine which connected to network using static ip.
the machine can prints and work grate till it stop printing.
when it does i can see the users jobs in the server Q and there is no ping communication to the machine.
when running network diagnostic at the 7760 user interface it says packge jan ND26.
restarting the machine will bring it back to life but this issue can repeat itself after 10 minutes.
the firware is the latest on the xerox site 5.2.1.
