Re: Phaser 7760 printing random pattern - red

The solution is :

If you can, avoid buying third party toner. Ours caught humidity or something like that and produced tiny balls of powder in the toner cartridge. Those are the dots on the print. It also damaged the red developper part. A lot of cash to repair something that could have been prevented by spending a little more at the start.

Hi Asterion.

ROS is the laser window that you've already cleaned. The Developer being mentioned is built in the machine and cannot be replaced with a consumable.

Re: Phaser 7760 printing random pattern - red

And the solution is... trash the printer? Buy yet another consumable? Clean something? Replace something? All of the above?

And, sorry — what's an "ROS"?

A.

The dcd's (debris centered deletions) indicate that you have a magenta developer housing issue. Developer and toner may have also dumped into the ROS.

Thanks for your reply. We had already cleaned the laser with the tool provided, but it didn't make any difference. Thanks also for the link, but we can't calculate any repeating defects.

Re: Phaser 7760 printing random pattern - red

Hi, medialog!

As you do have a lot of white areas / stripes, I would suggest you try cleaning the laser window a few times for that particular color, if that does not work have a look HERE to see if you can determine the cause.

Best Regards

Phaser 7760 printing random pattern - red

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

It's been a while that we have trouble with our reds. You can see in the following pictures that the other colors are ok. Changing the red imaging unit for a new one brought absolutely no changes. The red toner level is almost full.

Can you see what the problem might be? Thanks for your help.
