Re: Phaser 8400 Fault

Hello JoeCool59,

You are correct that the number after the colon in the fault code refers to the print count at the time of the fault.  The problem that you have is only serviceable by a qualified technician.  By that I mean, if you were to try and do the work yourself and rendered your machine useless, Xerox wouldn't be able to help you at all.  I know this isn't what you want to hear, but you should call the Xerox Customer Technical Support line at 800.835.6100 and set up a service call.

Phaser 8400 Fault

Product Name: Other - specify product in post

I have a Phaser 8400 with the following Fault Code:

Service Needed

Fault 37,002.47:59926

It's my understanding, that the "59926" part is the page count. The 37,002.47 is about a left jetstack heater failure. My question is:

Is the jetstack heater repairable at the component level? Can I disassemble the printhead and effect a repair of the board without proprietary special tools? Are there specs for impedence of the heater? Or is the printhead only replaceable as an assembly?
