So how do I fix it?
You are basically right, except we are talking about a Phaser! There is no fuser, but there is remaining ink on the transfer drum.
Hello intervarsitymar,
I believe that what you're seeing following the jam is a cleaning sheet. When your machine jammed, there may have been a paper in the paper path that didn't reach the fuser yet. The unfused toner then "stuck" in the paper path when you pulled the sheets out. The machine will run a cleaning sheet through the paper path to get rid of that unfused toner that was left behind so that your future prints won't be messed up by the left over toner.

Hello Xerox Community,
I have a Xerox Phaser 8560DN that has been churning along great for the past few weeks, but today decided to hate me.
Basically if I send through one page to print, it jams the first page that goes through. I remove the paper that's jammed, and then it prints one page with light ink and a second page with the correct text printed. Anyone have this problem before? Any solutions?
Thanks a lot!
